Scrapabilly sneak peeks

Follow my blog with Bloglovin

I will be part of the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog hop tomorrow (1st July) so I'll be posting my creations with the latest Scrapabilly kit on Tuesday and Wednesday.

You will be able to catch up with both the kit and the team's creations over at the Scapabilly site (details of the July kit here) but I thought I would whet your appetite for this gorgeously light and pretty kit with few sneak peeks.

The kit was so complete that I can honestly say that to create the four layouts and two cards (with plenty of leftovers), I only added two gold doilies, some thread and twine, a handful of sequins, a few tiny alphas and some mist. This is really one lovely kit - get one now before they run out.

I hope you'll come back tomorrow to say hi and again on Tuesday and Wednesday for the full reveal of my Scrapabilly layouts.

Until then, happy Sunday.

June Counterfeit Kit Challenge member blog hop

Welcome to the June Countefeit Kit Challenge member blog hop.

I'm first on the list today so if you are looking for some colourful, and possibly delicious inspiration, I suggest you check out the whole hop.

We were asked to be inspired by the colours, smells and tastes of your local Farmers' Market today.

Farmer's Market Challenge: Get inspired by the displays, colors, textures, produce and over all feel of the place.

I went down the food aspect of this inspiration to capture a little story about how we eat tomato, mozzarella and basil almost every Thursday! For years. It's become such a habit that even my brothers remind me that it's Thursday tomato-mozzie night when they come to visit. I tracked down one of the many photos of our regular bite and used my current kit, Personality to make a simple layout.

I added in some green and red sequins and was heavily inspired by a Pinterest find (here) by Stephanie Bryan from the Glitz blog (here). I loved everything about this layout and copied several elements quite faithfully - a new scrap crush perhaps. And on a side note, isn't everything that Glitz do right now gorgeous???

Anyway, here's my layout.

June kit, Personality lo#1

Thanks for dropping by and don't forget to let me know you were here.

Next up is a trip down the road to France to catch up with Maggie, and here's the full list in case you get lost along the way. Happy hopping.

On an unrelated side note, there have been reminders all over the net about the demise of Google Reader. I still follow a whole slew of blogs even if I can't find the time to visit them all so I moved over to bloglovin' thanks to a gentle but firm reminder from Debbie P. Don't get caught out - move over now. If I'm right, Google Reader ends in just a few days and my move to bloglovin' took about 3 minutes - job done.

13 loves {June 2013}

A bit late this month but here's what I'm loving this month:

One

A new (to me) online shop which specialises in washi and flair buttons, as well as some digital papers and label elements, and some über-cute chevron bags - and who doesn't love those right now? The shop is really pretty and full of scrumptious goodies. Definitely one to check out.

Two

Time with my two brothers. I have spent time with each of them alone over here in Germany, but never both of them at the same time. It was an "experience" and I loved it!

Three

This just sums up my life. Made me smile - wryly.

Four

June was a crazy busy time with one visitor arriving after the next. My bestie arrived the night my two brothers left town and stayed for the weekend. We don't spend much time together these days so it was a weekend with a whole lot of chatting and soul searching late into the night.

Five

Love Paris. Love Audrey Hepburn. Not sure I'd want this but the sentiment certainly rings true.

Six

I was invited to join the Scrapabillyhttp://www.scrapabilly.de/ design team (I talked about it here and here.) Sylvia's shop is an amazing treasure trove crammed full of gorgeous stash and I'm delighted and honoured to have been asked, and so warmly welcomed, onto the team. Watch this space for the new kit creations at the beginning of July. Another gorgeous kit. :-)

Seven

I want to do this. Now!

Eight

The next visitor during June was this little bundle of joy (and she brought her mum and dad along too!).

It was a fantastic opportunity for me to carry on getting to know her and we had a whole lot of fun. Uncle R filled the garden with fun stuff for her to enjoy, including this swing. She squealed with joy!

Nine

Enjoying using the Scrapabilly kit to capture the progression of aforementioned, über-cute niece. Love this little one, love this page.

Ten

Saw these on Pinterest. They would be an absolute must buy for me if I could get them over here. Will have to keep my eyes open for something similar in the shops round here. Aren't they super?

Eleven

My baby niece thoughtfully brought her mummy with her - my baby, baby sister. It was so wonderful to have some one-on-one (well along with a house full of husbands, babies, daddies and brothers!) time with her. It was a crazy month with so many visitors (in fact it's been like this since the end of April!) but I wouldn't have changed it for the world. I can't remember the last time we had some quiet time with each other and I was happy to get this photo of the two of us together. Love this girl!

Twelve

My Instax is being well-used and I can't resist this combination of the two of us on this mini format polaroid. This will be hitting a scrapbook page in the very near future.

Thirteen

No pink picks this month but another mint green love. Unlikely to be getting this in the near future (Ha ha!) but love it all the same.

Like I said, it's been a crazy month with guests coming and going through the house at a rate of knots which meant that there wasn't much time for much else. But it was wonderful. July will be just as busy with both brothers moving in for the month and several events on the calendar that we will all be involved in. I'm excited to share that with you too as it happens. In the meantime, hope June is treating you well and if you have 13 loves, we'd love to see them.

13 loves is a series started off by my inspirational best friend Pam over at Daily Pamage.

Fröhliche Friday #3

So, I missed out on Wednesday Wonderland this week. How did that happen?

Instead, I'm here to share Fröhliche Friday instead.

This and last week at Jingle Belles we've been given a super cute card sketch by Stephanie herself.

With those chunky banners, you know I'm going to love it and I followed it pretty closely apart from turning it 90° to make it a landscape card instead. I added a few foam snowflakes and some vintage wire words (vintage as in OLD) to finish off these - once again - quick and easy cards.

Another two hitting the pile and a few less scraps in my stash.

Anyway, if you've got this far (!), I'd like to share my project with you. I thought the cute little diver would make a sweet embellishment to a layout about my niece having some water fun.

I printed the digital stamp onto cardstock and then got happy with some glitter pens, coloured pencils (I was back at school again!) and some stickles. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would ;-)

I used my March Counterfeit kit, Disconnected (LO#5) for this bright and happy layout.

And your next stop is Steph. In case you get lost along the way, here's the longer than usual list ;-)

More from my June Scrapabilly kit

As you might have caught on yesterday's post (here) I am thrilled to be able to announce that I've been asked to join the Design Team of my *favourite* on-line - as well as bricks and mortar shop -  Scrapabilly!

I also shared two of the layouts that I made and am back today to share the other two which I hope will showcase how great this kit is for a variety of different style layouts.

I decided to get happy with the scissors and cut out some gorgeous flowers from one of the sheets. Then I had the vision of using all the clocks with the title and the rest of the layout came together really quickly. I made up the whole layout before going off to find some suitable photos.

The old fashioned reel camera included in the kit reminded me straight away of the Movie Park where I've been a few times with baby baby brother and so this layout came together really easily. I clustered up the elements and didn't need much extra apart from a little mist and a few Mini Market stickers (find them in the shop here).

Like I've said already, I have lots more paper and cardstock for at least another couple of layouts and all I needed to add for these four layouts is a sheet of white and cream cardstock, some small alphas and a length of twine. I love it when products in a kit work so well together!

I'd love it if you went to say hello at the shop or the blog. And I can't wait for the next kit and the chance to get to know the others.

Check in again tomorrow when I'll be participating in a Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog hop together with the girls at Little Blue Button Stamps.

Monday 10 June 2013

At last - a moment of quiet to share my news...

I am thrilled to be able to announce that I've been asked to join the Design Team of my *favourite* on-line - as well as bricks and mortar shop - Scrapabilly!

Sylvia has a gorgeous array of scrummy scrapbooking products and is just a delightful person! She is a rock 'n' roll fan, hence the funky shop name and I find myself dancing all round the shop while I'm there as she plays all that great rockabilly music. Can't resist! It's a great match for me I'm excited and honoured to be asked to be part of the team.

Please make sure you pop over to the shop and / or the blog and say hello! I will be featuring on the blog from time to time and in the inspiration gallery among her other, very talented designers who I'm looking forward to getting to know.

This month's kit uses a paper line that looks like it was designed just for Sylvia - "Market Square & Barber Shop Emporium" by a new company (to me) Farm House Paper Company. There's a whole lot of funky 50s inspired papers which are accompanied by a scattering of fun clock, film and bag embellies as well as a couple of sticker sheets, a large shipping tag, string, brads and of a really gorgeous set of Thickers (maybe my new fave!).

Scrapabilly June 2013 kit

I shared a card I made with the kit last week in Wednesday Wonderland #17 and here are 2 of the layouts I've made:

I really wanted to do a layout about an American Diner but didn't have any photos :-(  However our time at the Cavorting Chicken as we liked to call it was a good runner-up. The most perfect Canadian breakfast of pancakes or french toast with crispy bacon smothered with maple syrup kept us going all day

The only thing I added to the kit here (apart from the mists) is the small red and cream Mini Market letter stickers from October Afternoon - you can find them in the shop here

I loved the small white paper bag included in the kit and decided to use it to keep my journalling visible but hidden. I so love this technique - not so hidden that no one knows it's there but still private enough to allow me to write a few personal lines without it being too public.

It's a while since I've done any fussy cutting and the butterflies just seemed to fit the pretty flowers

I heat embossed my tag and then misted it with lots of colour to really add some texture to my tag. I added the twine to the kit for this and you can find it here in the shop

Such a versatile kit that really seemed to step up to the mark of whatever type of layout I decided to make.

Please stop by tomorrow and check out the other two layouts I made with the kit (and I still have lots of paper left so I'm sure to be making a few more as time goes on).
