Counterfeit Kit Challenge prompt #2 March 2018

It's time for Challenge #2 over at the Counterfeit Kit Challenge blog today and Susan has challenged us to use this rather delightful sketch!

Source here

I decided to make it easy for myself and stay relatively true to the original design but ended up making it a little Lisa at the same time!

My kit had lots of items that seemed to really just fit together well so I picked these out to make my layout seem harmonious and used a single photo to sum up the feelings I wanted to convey.

I'm keeping it short and sweet today so if you want to check out the other Master Forger creations, then head over to the CKC here to see what they made. Don't forget to share you own pages, You can find out how over in this blog post! We love it when you share so please do :-)

Counterfeit Kit Challenge March kit reveal blog hop

Well, that went fast!

February was a LOAD month for me which meant that I was scrapping up a storm all month and ended the month 28 layouts heavier than I started! It wasn't quite a layout each day but 28 in 28 is success for me! And I made 13 layouts from my February kit which is amazing because I actually thought I might get 6 and when I reached 8 I genuinely thought I was done with the kit. It really was the kit that just kept giving. Check out my layouts in the Counterfeit Kit Challenge FB community if you're interested.

But you're not here for that. I'm hoping you're hopping along with the CKC blog hop today to reveal the March kit for which we're shaking things up....

You should have reached me from the wonderful Leslie here and next up is sweet Lori here and make sure that you catch up with our Guest Designer Libeeti here who makes the most amazing mixed media projects. You'll be in awe!

This month, Master Forger Susan decided to go a different route with the kit she picked out for us to counterfeit. She decided to follow along with Jill Sprott's Stash-Busting Challenge (find out all about that challenge here). She followed the guidelines and came up with her beautiful Little Bits of Happy kit full of pretty scraps and gorgeous bits and pieces. We were told to take our kit in any direction we wanted based on her kit which was based on the inspiration! Confused? You will be!

She gives a full explanation over at the Counterfeit blog here if you are scratching your head.

Anyway, here's her kit, Little Bits of Happy. She gives you lots and lots of detail shots over on the CKC blog which were really useful for me when I pulled together my own kit.

And here's mine, Evolve (because putting this kit together was defiantly a sort of evolution!):

I started off by picking out papers that matched - more or less - the colours and designs that Susan had picked out. All but on of mine are full sheets because that's my main focus for most of my scrapping. I need to make another kit with scraps I think but for now, I wanted to concentrate on som of the papers that have been on my shelf for some time. There's Stories, Crate, My Mind's Eye, Theresa Collins, Shimelle and Scrapperin.

Then I added in a whole bunch of scraps of speciality papers. Acetate, vellum, tissue paper - all bits and pieces that I am loathe to use up because I love it too much!

Then I moved on to the embellishments. I tried to match up items from Susan's kit by type - die cuts, puffy stickers, tag, journalling cards, twine, stars, veneer, washi etc even if I added in more. She had included some BasicGrey stickers and I had some leftover die cut shapes from the same collection so in they went. I still need more puffy stickers!

These small journaling cards are fun to use but I haven't included any pocket page cards which I meant to. I will probably try to add some in because I am definitely not using these up quickly enough. Of course I included several alphabets of different sizes, fonts and colours to give variety. I tend to add more in throughout the month but that's ok. Every letter used on a layout is a letter gone from the pack!

Well, there you go! It's quite a bit kit but not as big as last month I think. I see quite a lot of interesting combinations (and b-sides) which could be interesting to mix things up. I'm excited to get scrapping.
